Hemil García Linares

Hemil García Linares es licenciado en periodismo por la universidad Jaime Bausate y Mesa (1996) y magíster en español por la universidad George Mason (2014). Trabaja como instructor de español en las universidades George Mason y Georgetown Enseñó en George Washington University y en diversas escuelas en Washington y Virginia.
Publicó Cuentos del norte, historias del sur (2009, 2017); las novelas Sesenta días para abandonar el país (2011), Aquiles en los Andes (2015) y El azul del Mediterráneo, un viaje ancestral (2019); las antologías, Raíces latinas (2012), Exiliados (2015), Mirando al sur (2019). Ha publicado en Canadá, Estados Unidos, México, Argentina, Perú, Francia, España y Dinamarca y realizado lecturas en Estados Unidos, Perú y España.
Dirige el Festival del libro hispano de Virginia, el Taller de narrativa en español de Virginia y la Editorial Raíces Latinas.
Es Colaborador de la ANLE (Academia Norteamericana de la Lengua Española).
Su campo de investigación es la literatura en español y el exilio a los Estados Unidos.


Hemil García Linares has a degree in journalism from Jaime Bausate y Mesa University (1996) and a master’s degree in Spanish from George Mason University (2014). He works as a Spanish instructor at George Mason and Georgetown universities. He taught at George Washington University and at various schools in Washington and Virginia. He published Tales of the North, Stories of the South (2009, 2017); the novels Sixty days to leave the country (2011), Achilles in the Andes (2015) and The blue of the Mediterranean, an ancestral journey (2019); the anthologies, Latin roots (2012), Exiles (2015), Looking south (2019). He has published in Canada, the United States, Mexico, Argentina, Peru, France, Spain and Denmark and has read in the United States, Peru and Spain. He directs the Virginia Hispanic Book Festival, the Virginia Spanish Narrative Workshop and the Editorial Raíces Latinas. He is a collaborator of the ANLE (North American Academy of the Spanish Language). His field of research is literature in Spanish and exile to the United States.
